Scimatic Software offers Samples, a very affordable ELN with special student pricing (under $100 at the time of this writing).  This software is easy to use and intuitively links all of your results, pictures, methods and notebook with the experiment you have set up.

Samples is offered as a replacement for the traditional paper lab notebook for small, research oriented labs.  Their website has a number of videos that show how the software works, links your various files and allows you to come back at a later date and search these files.

I do not usually add commentary to these product descriptions, but I am going to make an exception here.  If you work in a tightly budgeted, small research lab, you should check out what they are offering.  I like seeing such a useful tool being made accessible to so many laboratories.  (For what it is worth, they have a pretty interesting blog as well.)
